What happened
KRAFTON announced that inZOI: Creative Studio would open on March 20, 2025, eight days before the life simulation's early-access release. The standalone preview exposed two major systems: Create a Zoi for character authorship and Build Mode for spaces. Access first arrived through streaming-platform Drops, then opened without that restriction from March 23 through March 27.
Releasing the creator before the simulation made representation an activity in its own right. People could spend time shaping a face, body, clothing and personality before learning how the resulting Zoi behaved in the world. The distribution through livestreams also turned character creation into public content, where presets and techniques could circulate before ordinary play began.
The human implication
Detailed editors can widen self-expression while making the limits of the underlying body system more visible. Presets, sliders and categories always encode assumptions about which features belong together. Sharing introduces another layer: a character may be a self-portrait, an invented resident or an imitation, and those uses need different expectations around consent and attribution.
The announcement establishes the opening dates, access path and the two included tools. It does not enumerate every customization option or measure representational breadth. Nor does it show how imported or shared Zois behave after release. Evaluation should look past screenshot fidelity to category design, credit for shared presets and whether a creator can revise or withdraw a likeness once it circulates. The early window also offers a useful archive point for comparing what the editor promised with how those characters later appeared in simulation.
Sources & limits
KRAFTON documents the dated Creative Studio access and its two systems; representational range and downstream sharing outcomes are not evaluated.
